Half-Life 2: Lost Coast - Just played it

Just finished playing through the new half life 2 level, Lost Coast. They wern't kidding when they said it was brief. You basically make your way up a cliff and that's about it.

I was worried that I wouldn't be able to run this level because the setup program informed me that my RAM and processor did not meet the minimun requirements. I have a athlon 3200+ and 512MB ram. It indicated I needed 1GB ram and a 2.2GHz processor.

The game did run fine, thou it was at 800x600 resolution.

It was hard to pick out where the "high dynamic range lighting" features were supposed to show up. I noticed that the water transistioned from murky to transparent very smoothly. The other place I gather the lighting was supposed to shine was at the top of the cliff inside a cathedral-ish building. I'm sure my graphics card doesn't meet the requirements to make the HDL really come to life, and the game does look great (the best looking game I've played...) but I'm not really looking for more eye candy in games.

I'd be more interested in an enhanced physics engine, more objects that can be manipulated and used in new ways (oh, I did make quick work of a couple of Combine with the fisherman's spear using the gravity gun :), a story line that actually answers some questions instead of leaving you with nothing, or how about some really really good AI and challenging opponents! I've been playing Counter-Strike religiously for 4 years now because of the challenge and thrill of battling other humans.

As long as I'm naming my sources...

I suppose that I need to pay homage to the wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page (to the best of my knowledge, the original free online encyclopedia. They've even got an article on Taco Time. Now that's comprehensive.
